A teacher from Milestone School and College, identified as Taspia Ahmed Tisa (31), died tragically in Banasree of the capital after falling off a motorcycle and getting crushed between two buses.
The horrific accident took place around 5:45 PM on Wednesday (16 September) in front of Farazy Hospital in Banasree. The victim, Taspia Ahmed Tisa, hailed from Professor Para of Chandpur Sadar Upazila. She was living in Meradia Noapara, Khilgaon, and was teaching at the Aftabnagar branch of Milestone School and College.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, Taspia was riding pillion on a motorcycle for personal work. As they reached the area in front of Farazy Hospital, she fell off the motorcycle. At that exact moment, two racing buses behind them—one belonging to ‘Ramzan Paribahan’ and another bus—ran over her. Crushed between the two buses, she died on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, police rushed to the scene and recovered the bloody body. Khilgaon Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Onoy Chandra Paul said, “Taspia Ahmed died on the spot after being crushed between a Ramzan Paribahan bus and another bus. Police recovered her body upon receiving the news. Following legal formalities, the body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy around 9:00 PM. Two buses, including one belonging to Ramzan Paribahan, have been seized. The drivers and helpers of both buses have been detained.”
Hearing the news of the accident, the victim’s brother, Enam Ahmed, rushed to the DMCH morgue. He said, “My sister left home for work. In the evening, I got news that she met with an accident in front of Farazy Hospital after falling off the back of a motorcycle and getting crushed between two buses.”
Md. Musa, owner of a tailoring shop in Banasree who was present at the accident scene and hospital, expressed deep sorrow, saying, “Taspia used to get her clothes tailored regularly at my shop. She was a very good person. She was scheduled to go on a trip to Cox’s Bazar tomorrow, but today evening I had to see her bloody, lifeless body on the road.” He was the one who first informed Taspia’s family of her death after the incident.
