Bangladeshi cultural troupe arrives in Islamabad to boost bilateral ties

A 15-member Bangladeshi cultural delegation has arrived in Islamabad as Bangladesh and Pakistan seek to strengthen bilateral ties through cultural exchanges.

The delegation comprises musicians, dancers, vocalists and representatives of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs, according to a press release issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka today (October 16).

Renowned Bangladeshi painter and printmaker Md Abdus Satter is also among the delegates.

During the visit, the artists are scheduled to showcase Bangladesh’s cultural heritage at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Lok Virsa in Islamabad.

The visit is part of an initiative by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.

It follows the signing of a cultural exchange programme during Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Bangladesh last year, the high commission said.
