Police have recovered the bodies of two men from separate locations in the Shahbagh area of Dhaka. They were estimated to be around 65 and 45 years old.
The bodies were recovered at around noon on Saturday (September 12) from a footpath in front of the main gate of the National Eidgah and the Kadam Fountain intersection.
Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Toufiq Hasan said police recovered the bodies after receiving information from local residents. The bodies were later sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsies.
According to police, locals said the two men appeared to be homeless and had been living around the area. Police initially suspect that they may have died from illness.
However, the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsies. A forensic team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has also been informed to help identify the deceased.
